Testimony Tuesday: A Muslim meets Jesus in Mecca
Today’s testimony is shared by a man who would like to remain anonymous…
“My mother, a devout Muslim, accepted Christ as her Savior after she watched the “Jesus” video in her native language. But, she continued to keep the Islamic rituals too. Could she have both? I didn’t know. What I do know is that the seed about who Jesus is was planted.
Several years ago, she suffered congestive heart failure. I was called to her side, and was with her when the emergency medics arrived, placed her in an ambulance and rushed her to the hospital.
After being clinically dead for a time, the medical team resuscitated her, treated her and kept her in the Emergency Room to recover. I was at the ER this whole time and when doctors permitted me, I prayed over her by her bedside.
My mother regained consciousness and opened her eyes, but when she tried to say something, she couldn’t speak because of the tubes going through her mouth. I asked her to blink her eyes if she could hear me, and she did. She had been trying to talk to me.
When the tubes were removed and she was out of ICU in the hospital room, she said she was trying to tell me that she had a near-death experience.
She said that while she was dead, she had gone to Mecca. Her surroundings were familiar. In life, she was a good Muslim and had been to Mecca three times as a religious duty for Hajj, as Muslims are commanded by their religion. During her experience, she was completely healthy and well – all her infirmities healed – when she found herself in Mecca. There was a huge circular lake, red with blood. In this lake there were terrible sea creatures. Creatures like she had never seen before, small and large. She observed people arriving to this place by great numbers. They were being thrown into the lake and these creatures were tearing them apart.
Terrified and crying, she backed away from the lake. Other people were wailing too. Still, people were coming and being thrown into the lake of blood. As she was crying, expressing her wish to go back to where she came from, in despair she sat down on the ground, crying very hard. Not being able to bear what was going on there, and noticing this could be her destiny, she was reminded of what I had told her; to ask for Jesus’ help when in difficulty. She pleaded, “Jesus, help me!”, and in a moment a young man in white robes came to her.
Yes, Jesus came to her and comforted her. She could hear some people crying near her. He said, “What do you want?” She responded, “I want to go back to my children. I don’t want to be thrown into this pool of blood for the beasts to tear me apart. I don’t belong here. Please help me!” Then Jesus said, “Wait here! There are a couple more individuals that want to go back too, and I will send you back along with them.”
At this time, the doctors had asked my brother and I if we wanted to let her go, or have them try to bring her back. We both said we wanted her back, so they began working on her again.
Then, when my mother opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was me. I was standing by her bedside, praying to the Lord Jesus.
The highlight of this testimony is that even though my mother had not fully submitted her will and life to Jesus Christ before, He did not count this against her and responded to her call to assure her of the decision she had made years earlier.
I can’t stop thinking about this. I can’t stop thinking about how senseless, how terrible it is that this lake of blood could be the destiny of many people and they don’t give Jesus Christ a chance to show His saving grace and love them. This real experience makes it so urgent, so real, and she says it is so compelling.
Jesus’ love is for all humanity! His gift of salvation is free for everyone who desires to accept it.”
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.”
The promise of Jesus is:
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
What a testimony! I for one don’t want any of my family or friends, neighbors, or anyone, to wind up without Jesus as their Redeemer. We must pray and ask that the Holy Spirit continue persuading men and women to come to their senses, that God would write their names in His book of Life, and call them to Himself. Ask God to put someone on your heart today or in your life that you can pray for, befriend, encourage, and perhaps share the gospel with. He will!
Food for thought: Jesus is revealing Himself to Muslim people around the world, through dreams and visions. If He loves them that much, so must we.
Fun facts: As of 2017, there are an estimated 3.45 million Muslims living in the U.S. As of early 2018, there is an estimated 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, about 24.1% of the world’s population. That is a big mission field! The fields are white unto harvest!!
